Tourism:  Follow the country roads of your choice or the marked itineraries of the "Champagne Route" and you'll quickly succumb to the charm of quiet villages peeking from behind the treetops and be seduced by the succession of gently sloping hills passing in front of your eyes.
Don't hesitate to stop and meet the men that made the reputation of this region, the creators of the Champagne. They'll be happy to talk to you, show you their cellars and introduce you to their world, where the pursuit of refinement, taste and passion are the rules.
And how could anyone resist visits to Champagne cellars such as Pommery, Ruinart, Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin, Mumm, Piper-Heidsieck, Taittinger and Charles Heidsieck ? Classified and distinguished, some of them open their cellars for romantic candlelight dinners.

Gastronomy:   If the Champagne has been called "The king of wines" and has made the reputation of the region worldwide, the gastronomy doesn't lag behind. Numerous local specialties form the base of a cuisine that is both sophisticated and varied.
Should you decide to accompany your dinner with something else than Champagne, why not try one of the local wines? There are some excellent choices, such as the Rosé de Riceys (a favorite of Louis XIV), a wine with sunny and fruity overtones, considered by some even today one of the best French Rosé. Or you could opt for the Bouzy, Cumières, Ambonnay, all excellent red wines. Should you wish to try a wine from the Hautes-Marne region, Coiffy and Montsaugeon represent excellent and typical choices of the local variety.
With almost 400 restaurants, and country-side inns catering to the hungry tourist, Champagne is waiting for you! Bon appétit !
